Google Chrome OS sounds awesome! I would at least try it yes, but i don't really like the idea of it only being on-line based... It is a must try though, as they say "don't read a book by its cover"

Just like everything else from google, it will be free. I'll give it a try, but I can't see myself using it as a primary OS. Granted, it's aimed more at netbooks anyways.

I suspect it is based primally for NetBooks and Laptops - not extreme gaming rigs...

You are correct. It will depend heavily on web connectivity because it will use online apps like google docs.

But, thanks to the magic of google gears, these apps can be used offline too! Isn't google awesome?

i actualy think it will be incredibly hard to beat google, most of them try to cram in loads of features but the reason google is so good is cuz its so simple xD (Also got lots of usefull features though just not all in ur face)

Anyone else had a tinker with the OS yet? I tried it out a while back and it seems a interesting approach; I think it is perhaps a little ahead of its time but its worth a try if all you need to use is stored in the cloud

i just hope google doesn't try to record everything you do on it, like they usually do.
& I'm not a huge fan of google. But they can make some pretty awesome stuff. I'll try it on an old computer if it has easy file sharing and ftp stuff

Post Re: Google Chromeos
I love Google, everytime I have brought something into my life it has made it easier. I use a large range of their products. I think it is worrying to know they hold so much data on someone but up until now they seem to have kept it all safe. I think the latest news in that they have have stood up to China after their data was trying to be compromised makes me feel a bit better about it all.

You should try it out. It seem so bare, it is just a browser basically.

I tried it out about a month ago, and hated it. There are basically no settings to change, resulting in a very low level of customization. I also hated not being able to have multiple windows open. Worst of all, it's nearly impossible to work with data that isn't in the cloud. There is no access to the system drive or any type of offline document storage.

I can see what you mean for sure, I don't see myself using this any time soon either because I believe having a local copy is needed. I think current time users are people who are new to the internet and people who use a netbook for just browsing the internet & anything else google has to offer.

As I mentioned previously, I think it is a little bit ahead of its time.
