Is 39c in the BIOS a high temp?

for what part? A hard drive? a cpu? a gpu? motherboard? And what technology (p4, c2d, i7 etc.)?

gpu's get hot after 85C
cpus i would consider hot after 70-75C

I think a phase changer usually takes some kind of organic liquid like an alcohol (because it evaporates at a much lower temperature compared to air) (methanol, propanol, etc.) and when that liquid comes in contact with the processor it absorbs massive amounts of energy and transforms into a gas. Then it goes to the top of the columns of the heat sink & slowly gives off energy until it condenses again. Hence phase change cooler.

yah liquid nitrogen could be considered a phase change cooler, because it absorbs massive amounts of energy & evaporates, but unlike some phase change coolers the liquid nitrogen does not re-condense into liquid & it is not confined in a heat sink or distillation chamber. Nitrogen usually evaporates and just spreads out into your room.

yeah that is correct.. a phase change cooler is basically a 24/7 extreme cooler.. its not like LN2 which is only temporary.. but with PHC you have to fill your cpu socket and surrounding mobo with grease or Vaseline in order to prevent shorts.

Oh, Would you happen to know of any software that checks your CPU's temp? And is compatible with P$ and W7?
